Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 5, 2026

What's For Dinner (the “App”) is published by Chosen Path Ventures LLC (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what information the App collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account — directly or with Google or Apple sign-in — we collect your name, email address, and profile photo (if provided). We never see or store your Google or Apple password.

Contacts. If you grant permission, the App can read your device contacts so you can invite people to decision sessions. Contact access is optional: you can always add people manually by name and phone number, and declining the permission never blocks you from using the App. We only use contact data you choose to invite.

Location. With your permission, the App collects your approximate or precise location to show nearby restaurants, grocery stores, and delivery options. You can disable location access in your device settings at any time; some features (like nearby search) will be limited without it.

Allergy and dietary information. You may save allergies, dietary preferences, and restrictions to your taste profile so suggestions and group planning stay safe. This is sensitive information: we use it only to personalize your experience and warn groups and event planners, and we never use it for advertising.

Content you provide. Suggestions, votes, messages, grocery lists, event checklists, meal history, and ratings you create in the App.

Usage and device information. Basic diagnostics such as app version, device type, and crash reports, used to keep the App stable and improve it.

2. How we use information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.

3. Sharing

We share information only as needed to run the App:

4. Data retention and deletion

We keep your information only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. You can delete your account at any time from within the App (Profile > Settings > Delete Account), which permanently removes your account data. You may also request deletion by contacting us at the email below, and we will complete verified requests within 30 days.

5. Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical safeguards — encrypted connections, authenticated access, and limited internal access — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to withdraw consent (for example, location or contacts permission) at any time via your device settings or the App. Contact us to exercise these rights.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. We will post the new version here and update the date above; material changes will also be noted in the App.
